It was a really beautiful day, the weather was perfect, nice and warm, no rain or wind which was a bonus.
Surprisingly I was very calm the whole day, it was stressful leading up to the wedding, but everything just went perfectly on the day, we couldn't fault it. Nothing went wrong and we had a wonderful time.
The reception afterwards was a sit-down 3 course meal under the Marquee on the lawn, and we had fairy lights everywhere and candles
- we had so many people telling us how beautiful it looked and how much they enjoyed themselves which is exactly what we wanted.
Ivan got COVID three weeks before the wedding, and then I got it two weeks before! This meant everything I had planned to do had to be squashed into the week of the wedding which made it quite stressful!
We visited two bridal shops on the same day, Bride's selection was the second shop and we didn't have much success at the first one, although my mum did cry when I tried on the first gown!
Andy helped us that day, and she knew exactly what I wanted when I explained my style and even grabbed some dresses I'd already had in mind I wanted to try.
I was stuck on two options and couldn't decide, so mum and I went and had some lunch then came back after I chose the one I had the most emotion for.
I felt absolutely stunning in my chosen dress and looked exactly how I'd imagined I wanted - and yes, I cried haha
Later that day I was scrolling through my secret pinterest board of wedding dresses and discovered I had actually saved my exact dress that I chose! But I had pinned it years ago! so I think this showed it was meant to be.
The day of the wedding I was told I looked like a movie star and I felt like it, wearing my gorgeous dress and my mum's veil from when her and my dad got married in 1986.
I don't wear too much bling so I wanted simple, classic and elegant, and with some pearl's thrown in.
